Adrien Brody (THE VILLAGE, THE JACKET, KING KONG [2005], HOLLYWOODLAND, GIALLO, SPLICE) leads Nimród Antal's PREDATORS. While Adrien has been a leading man since the 1990s, he's never demonstrated any audience appeal, at least the kind that will make even a low budget movie profitable. Nowhere is this more obvious than Horror, Thriller, Mystery, and Suspense movies - and Adrien appears to be partial towards them. But after 6 stinkers in a row, Adrien could really use a hit, so what are his chances?
Among Horror Thrillers, PREDATORS Director Nimród Antal is known for VACANCY (2007).
Writers Alex Litvak and Michael Finch are both unproven first timers. Of the three producers on PREDATORS, John Davis is largely there because he was there from the beginning. For better or worse, John shepherded the PREDATOR franchise all the way through the last two ALIENS vs PREDATOR movies.
Producer Elizabeth Avellan and Robert Rodriguez are also onboard. The former husband and wife team have worked together on all of Robert's directorial successes. KNB is bringing the wow with the make-up SFX and the movie is in the low end of big budget at $40 million. It could nearly double that in distribution costs.
Fans of the Predator and Aliens movies have found little to love about the Alien franchise since Cameron. Few enjoyed the first AVP and it would seem that nobody found favor with AVP: REQUIEM.
Robert Rodriguez (FROM DUSK TILL DAWN, THE FACULTY, SIN CITY, PLANET TERROR) is a genre fan favorite and carries a lot of cache, but he's neither directing or writing. I'd say if you are a gambler, this one is too close to call.

Adrien Brody prepared for 'Predators' by sleeping in the jungles of Hawaii and gaining 25 pounds
Not even a jumping-spider attack can shake Adrien Brody's cool.
"Oh, he's nasty," Brody remarks calmly from his Los Angeles hotel, where an aggressive arachnid suddenly interrupts the interview. But the unflappable Academy Award winner simply traps it under a glass ("There's no need to kill him," he says) before getting back to business.
